when i use IE7 or Mozila firefox the download rate is very low. so i really want to know which web browser is the fastest downloader.

"Best" is a fairly subjective term, it depends what factors you consider important, but no browser is noticeably faster at downloading files then any other. Anything influencing the speed is more likely to be related to the network connection then the browser.

I've tried Netscape (not latey), FireFox, Opera and of course Internet Explorer. I don't use IE anymore than I have to, because virus programs generally target the more popular softwares.

I'm looking for dependabilty and the one that seems to work best in my computer (setup) is Opera.

I use Mozilla Firefox 2, and believe it has quite good download speeds. If you are experiencing problems with download speeds across all your browsers, may I suggest you investigate your connection?

Safari works best for downloads, AND it's for Mac and PC so it doesn't matter what OS you use.
